Hush Sheer Blinds

Acoustic Sheer Blind Fabric

You’ll hardly believe the huge difference a simple sheer fabric can make to the acoustic amenity of a room. Our range of Hush acoustic sheer blind fabric is flame retardant, lightweight, translucent, and durable; a combination previously unavailable for commercial spaces.

Manufacturing note: Please be aware that they should not be railroaded.

How It Works

Woven with a ribbon-shaped Trevira CS yarn, this filament is the key to their sound absorption, managing the flow of sound waves repeatedly passing through and bouncing off a reflective surface. This changes the tone, becoming muffled, and results in the reduction of sound levels.

With the fabric positioned 15 to 20cm from the window or wall, our acoustic engineers found that it could absorb up to five times as much sound as a typical lightweight, non-acoustic fabric.

Fabric Specification Overview

Hush acoustic blind technical spec

“We have an open plan office with hard surface finishes everywhere, and it looks out onto the factory floor. It was very noisy and near impossible to have several conversations and phone calls at once. So we made roller blinds using Hush acoustic sheer Frequency White fabric.  Not only do they perform well, reducing the echo and intensity of sound in the room dramatically, but they look great too and we often have comments from visitors.” – David Reilly, Reilly & Associates.
