What is Product Aware?

Created by Cox Architecture and supported by a team of Australian Architects Declare volunteers, Product Aware is a tool that consists of two interconnected parts:

1. A QUESTIONNAIRE – intended as a prompt for architects and designers to initiate engagement with suppliers like Materialised. With content reviewed by highly qualified sustainability professionals, this helps bring unified questions (and answers) to market.
2. A DATABASE – an independent, not-for-profit resource to assist Australian architects and designers to compare and specify more sustainable materials and products.

Materialised and Product Aware

As early advocates of Australian Architects Declare and members of Suppliers Declare, Materialised is committed to listing a core range on Product Aware.

How to use Product Aware

1. Visit productaware.au
2. Sign in or register to sign up to access the database.
3. You can find a growing collection of our sustainable products and collections by searching for Materialised in the database filter.

Will all Materialised products be listed?

We will focus on adding a core selection of sustainable products.

Uploading information to Product Aware is an involved process with the inclusion of certifications that we don’t normally house on our own website. This is largely because the certifications have varying expiry dates that are labour intensive to manage. Moreover, our database of products is vast.

By showcasing core sustainable products, we can manage the process internally, and deliver the most relevant, most requested products. We continually add to Product Aware, so please keep checking for the latest from us there.
