The Brief.
Wheller On The Park is a modern retirement village in QLD owned by Wesley Mission, with a leisure centre surrounded by a series of residential towers and villas. Each tower has a foyer/meeting zone and a sitting area on every floor which is where new furniture was required.
We used our fabulous digital tool, WeaveUp, to create unique designs and colourways for furniture in these areas. The brief? Light, bright and happy.
Hibiscus Happiness and Elliptical Wing were selected for the upholstery on Crown Furniture and Mardi Gras Dots was used for panels to complement Elliptical Wing.
Hibiscus Happiness was originally selected by the residents for the tower foyers and was manufactured and delivered there. Not long after the delivery, Sam Thaiday (ex Brisbane Broncos football player) decided to announce his retirement from football and cleverly decided to make the announcement at a retirement village. He chose Wheller On The Park. Management liked the new furniture so much, they moved it all over to the leisure centre for the press conference, so as to showcase their village.
The Result
All went well with the press conference and it was decided that the furniture looked so good it was to stay there, but the residents missed their beautiful designs! The result was that new furniture in Hibiscus Happiness had to be ordered for the tower foyer.
