The outdoor gaming lounge area at The Star in Pyrmont was feeling a bit tired and neglected. During the long Sydney lockdowns, WEBB+ were able to give a bit of a facelift and refresh to this space.
The Gaming Lounge Design Brief
WEBB+’s approach is never to apply a house style to their projects. Instead, they start with a client-driven creative process, ensuring that their clients are fully involved at all stages. Their brief is the driving force behind the design solutions.
“Not only does the lounge provide a break away space for gaming patrons, it services the outdoor TAB area. The state-of-the-art large SIMTECH screens provide an outdoor sport bar with knockout Sydney views.” says Rebekah Levison, Senior Associate Interior Designer, WEBB+
“The space has to feel fresh and clean, so the fabric specification needed to be robust to cope with indoor/outdoor and heavy usage. Pattern is also the best option for high traffic.”
Materialised Product
The interior design says bright and breezy, capturing the stunning harbourside and fresh Sydney feel.
Bouquet stripe was developed in a custom colour and printed on Crypton George Parchment. “It has the lovely, luxe, golden sheen that sits so well in a casino environment,” explains Rebekah.
Crypton George is a textured, velvet base cloth with Crypton fabric intelligence and full waterproof barrier. A commitment to sustainability and durability is achieved through GREENGUARD GOLD certification and a Wyzenbeek abrasion test result of more than 50,000 double rubs.
The Result
