Ombre sheer curtain fabric was selected by Pialligo Estate for the stunning refurbishment of their pavilion and grill. Expertly project managed and installed by the BMAC Window Furnishings team, we asked them a few questions about this project.

Materialised ombre sheer curtain fabric

The beautiful space was designed by the director of Pialligo Estate, in collaboration with a local Canberran architect, with ombre sheer curtain fabrics supplied and installed by the BMAC Window Furnishings installations team.

BMAC used an eye-catching S Fold Wave heading to create a contemporary and high-end feel to the already luxurious space. The result is a soft flowing wave effect that allows the fabric to fall beautifully. It transforms, elongates, and extenuates the incredible design of the space.

“For this project our ambitious installations team were faced with the challenging task of installing the curtains at multiple different heights and fit types, with some of the tracks even being suspended on curtain droppers,” explains Commercial Project Manager, Kayleigh Lawrence of BMAC.

To ensure the curtains were a breathtaking, flawless feature our team custom manufactured and installed several intricate tracking and complex bracketing systems that left the team at Pialligo Estate amazed with the overall appearance of the space.”

What’s important when sewing a sheer curtain fabric?

“When sewing fabrics, in particular gradient fabrics into ‘long drop’ curtains, it is of significant importance to our manufacturer at Venus Window Fashions that all ‘drops’ of fabric are sewed as neatly as possible. This ensures any joining is near invisible and camouflaged within the S Fold Wave shape of the curtain,” says Ashleigh Fowlie, Residential Project Manager at BMAC.

It was also of utmost importance to our team at BMAC Window Furnishings and our manufacturers that all ‘drops’ aligned with the gradience of the fabric to give the products a seamless appearance from curtain to curtain, especially as they are all within the same open-plan space.”

What trends are you seeing for commercial interiors?

“BMAC’s commercial team has seen a rise in the use of S Fold Wave sheer curtains within restaurants and office spaces in neutral tones and palettes. This elongates and extenuates the spaces while also allowing for additional architectural and interior design features to shine through.”

“Working with the Materialised team was made extremely stress-free with the team being accommodating and supportive throughout the quoting and ordering process.”
