The Brief.
Seeing the incredible ‘WOW’ suites of the W Maldives, it’s easy to see why they needed something special from their furnishing textile and wall covering provider.
The inspiration for the bedhead wall vinyl design was a tiny postcard-sized painting, which when scaled up was far too pixilated to reproduce appropriately. With permission from the artist, our Materialised design team reproduced the work perfectly so that the image could be printed large scale onto Sandy Bank.
Continuing the ‘marine’ theme, an exploded coral scape was developed for inside the open wardrobes. We also created an amazing giant squid for the back of the curved sofa, turning an otherwise blank space into a work of art. The squid image was printed onto waterproof Crypton Savanna to ensure protection from the rigours of beachside living.
